This Sunday I am going to dance with that question. Are we to become perfect as the scripture in Matthew 5:48 states? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”  Or are we to give up everything for others, like it says in John 15:13, Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”?

Sometimes it’s confusing to know where we stand. This Sunday PCF will gather at Glik Park at 9:00am and we will try to come to conclusions about such questions.

News: The shoe program is in full swing. We will be giving 65 children in our free lunch program a gift certificate for $75.00 each at the Shoe Carnival in Edwardsville. This has been a very successful program that we have decided to continue. I want to say thank you to all the volunteers who have so faithfully kept this lunch program viable. A huge thank you for your dedication and a huge thank you to all who give so generously to keep these programs viable.

I am planning on meeting more regular this fall as we move back to Immanuel. I will be announcing more on this soon.

Please continue to pray for Faye Heuchert for full recovery from her procedure, Pete Fornoff who is at Mercy Hospital in St Louis battling Cancer and other complications. Laurie Frey who is making an amazing recovery from her surgery, Bonni’s mom Louise Burns who is taking Chemo for her cancer treatments. If you have a prayer request please text me or email me and I will get your request on the list.

See you Sunday at 9:00am Glik Park, invite a friend! See you then. Pastor kent
