The RTP community choir met for the 4th time last night and it was a blast! We had 20+ people singing in the choir and several new visitors. It is our hope that this choir will become a source of saving grace to many in the future. Music, especially Holy Spirit filled music, has the power to help, heal, save, and motivate people for God’s Kingdom. Bonni and I will be posting the RTP schedule so keep watching. This time of year we won’t be meeting everyThursday because of other obligations. Our next get together will be November 1st so mark your calendars. A big shout out of thanks to Ken Winchester and Bob Ahrens for getting everything set up for the choir on Thursday evenings! Thank you.

The future planning committee met for this first time this past Wednesday and I am excited to say that this group is already full of excitement and ideas for our future. Gary Watson, our board president will be giving updates on this groups activities and ideas on the Sundays we meet.

There is only one way for you to get to know Jesus and that is you must spend time with Him. And I’m not talking about the time on a Sunday morning. That time is for learning and for fellowship. On Sunday’s you get to hear about Jesus and His teachings but that is not the same as actually getting to know Him. The power of Christianity is developing a personal relationship with Jesus. I can learn all about Bill Gates the founder of Microsoft, but if I could actually become best friends with him, I’ll bet my access to Him and his connections and wealth could be of great benefit to me.

No service this Sunday! We will meet again on October 21st!

What makes Praise Community Fellowship so special?  We decided when we started putting this group together almost 8 yeas ago that we would not own a building.  There are many churches that sit empty most of the week so we hoped that we would be able to rent space. We have. We also decided that we would be a volunteer church so there are no pastors salaries, music director salaries, secretary salaries. We collect offerings to serve people in need and pay our rent. Since our overhead is extremely low, we are able to give most of our offering to those in need. We are a mission based group with a passion for serving our community and other missions. As the pastor of Praise Community Fellowship I can tell you that it is an absolute honor to be serving this group. It is my mission as pastor to get people into a relationship with Jesus! That is our bottom line. We don’t ask people to join our church because we do not have membership requirements. You can find out more about PCF by going to our web page at www.praisecommunityfellowship.com.

Brent Leh memorial service this Sunday at 12:00 noon at the Edwardsville Wrestling complex located at Edwardsville High School.

Prayers:

Walt Williams is in treatment for cancer. He said that he is feeling a little better but is still having trouble swallowing. Let’s lift Walt and Mary Ann to God’s Healing and strength.

Ann Culp, the Leh and the Ottwein Family for healing and peace for the loss of Ann’s son Brent Leh.

Read your Bible everyday. Make it a habit that is as necessary as breathing! It will lead you on the path to God’s wisdom and peace.

See you soon! Love, pastor Kent
