Sometimes it feels good to read all the uplifting sayings that travel around Facebook and the internet this time of year. Here are some I have seen lately.

  • Believe the universe is always ready to send miracles into your life.
  • A champion is defined not by their wins, but how they recover when they fall
  • You are the only bible some unbelievers will ever read
  • God’s purpose is greater than our problems
  • Let God’s promises shine on your problems

And there are thousands more like these. These are all nice sayings, but when you have been dumped out of your canoe and are now fighting for life in a raging river, all of these nice sayings aren’t going to mean much to you. The reality is there are some things in this life that are really, really awful and all the nice sayings in the world aren’t going to help you.

Prayer is the answer for all times and all things in all circumstances. When things in your life are good and wonderful, pray a prayer of thanks. When things are confusing, pray! When your heart is broken, pray! When you’re afraid, pray! When you are lost, pray.  When you are sick, pray! When you don’t know what to do, pray. This is the most powerful tool God has given to mankind. Prayer reaches into God’s Kingdom where all Love, Peace, Joy, and Wisdom exists. Christians need to develop this powerful tool and the way we develop it is by using it everyday in all circumstances. Give yourself the best Christmas present ever this year, Prayer! It can be carried with you anywhere. It is a universal tool that has unlimited applications, unlimited power source, and has a lifetime guarantee!

PCF will have our Christmas service Sunday December 23rd at 10:30 am. We meet at 800 North Main in Edwardsville in the Immanuel United Methodist Church. We are a non-denominational congregation and call ourselves the church with NO Walls. We do not own a building, we are all volunteers, there are no salaries. We use our offerings to pay rent and the rest goes back into the community to help those in need. We meet only twice per month. You can find out our meeting schedule by signing up for this blog on our website. We have no membership requirements. Our mission is to be Jesus outside the walls of a church. NO Walls.
