Our eyes, ears, mouth, hands, feet arms and legs, and our mind are all tools God has given us. When we become born again and we allow Jesus to have the keys to our house, all of these tools become instruments of worship and of service. What  I have found is that I am constantly having to clean and redirect these tools so that they are used for Gods glory.

Here is what the bible says about this:

James 3:9-11

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?

Announcements:

GLEN-ED FOOD PANTRY  Thanks to those who donated 9 pounds for the Food Pantry last week.   We received 8 rolls of toilet paper, 1 package of cheese crackers, 8 deodorants, 4 shaving creams, 2 toothpastes and 16 toothbrushes.  Our Pantry emphasis for the month of April is Men’s Toiletries.  Personal care items are always needed because programs like Food Stamps, WIC, etc. do not cover these purchases.  Thanks for remembering those less fortunate next time you are out shopping.

KID’S NIGHT OUT . This Friday, April 13, from 5:30 – 8:30 pm, children from age 3 through those in 5th grade are invited to participate in Kid’s Night Out in the lower level at Immanuel.  We have received reservations for 31 children as of this morning.  Additional helpers are needed to serve the meal, clean up the meal, help with planned activities and supervise during the movie and snacks time.  If you are available to help, please call Kiffon Lewis (618) 210-9628 or Jill Winte (314) 422-6734.  If you have not yet made a reservation for your child, please do so today if possible.  Reservations are now required to ensure adequate staffing.  Many thanks to those who have already registered, and to those who have volunteered to help.

Love, pastor kent
