There is only one source of truth and that is God. God’s truth is the only truth there is. He created everything, knows all things, there is nothing outside of God’s truth. The lure that deceives us is still the remanent of the fall in the Garden of Eden. We are easily duped into thinking there is a better truth than what God has revealed in the bible and through His son Jesus.  There are people who still want to add or subtract from what God has taught which many times bends or changes God’s truth.  That is why it is so very important to read your bible everyday. The bible is God’s truth. No one I have ever met completely understands all things in the bible but that is ok. God will reveal Himself to those who seek Him. You get to know God and his truth by reading the book that he gave mankind. It would be very easy to pass a counterfeit $100 dollar bill to someone who is not familiar with our American money and who has never seen a real one.   But to someone who knows what a real $100 bill looks like, it would be much more difficult to pass off a counterfeit. That is the danger that many Christians face today especially if they are not familiar with Gods truth from the bible. This is not new, it has been happening since the first church.

1 Peter 2:1-3 “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.”

2 Timothy 4:3 “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.  As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”

This Sunday July 22nd, 2018 IUMC will be sending their congregation into the mission field to cook and serve breakfast for their SAKS kids. All are invited to participate. The meeting time will be 8:45am at the church for a song and prayer before leaving to serve.
